Asus Zenbook 17 Fold review: Innovation at its best
Asus has been at the forefront of innovation when it comes to laptops. In 2022, they came up with some good looking and powerful machines that not only beat the competition, but pushed them so far that they looked like a dot in the rear view mirror. The latest news coming to our side of town is the Asus Zenbook 17 Fold. We spent more than 2 weeks with the device to understand its pros and cons. This is the Asus Zenbook 17 Fold review you’ve all been waiting for.
Asus Zenbook 17 Fold review: Design and display
ASUS ZenBook 17 fold has a distinctive design that sets it apart from other notebooks on the market. The most notable feature is the 17-inch touchscreen display, which can be opened 180 degrees and easily switched between laptop and tablet mode. It comes with a keyboard attachment that turns it into a 13-inch laptop. So only the top part of the screen is in the game. This makes it ideal for professionals working on complex projects as well as individuals looking for a versatile gadget that can be used for both work and play.

Speaking of its design, the ZenBook 17 fold has a clean and attractive design in addition to the foldable display. The notebook is made of high-quality components, including a light aluminum chassis. The laptop’s hinge is also precisely designed, resulting in smooth and stable operation when switching modes. In tablet mode, the hinge also allows for a comfortable and ergonomic viewing position, making it ideal for watching movies, browsing the web or taking notes. Overall, the ASUS ZenBook 17 fold is a well-built laptop that’s perfect for anyone looking for a powerful and adaptable gadget.
In terms of connectivity, users get two Thunderbolt ports, one on each side, and one 3.5mm audio/microphone port. To connect a USB 3.0 device, you will need a USB Type-C hub. The same one you got for the MacBook Airs.

One of the most visible features of the laptop is its 17-inch touchscreen display. With a resolution of 3840 x 2160 pixels, the display offers a vivid, sharp image that is ideal for watching high-definition movies and video content. In addition, the display fully supports the sRGB color gamut, making it an ideal choice for graphic design, photography and video editing professionals. In addition, the display is Pantone certified, which ensures that colors are correct and consistent, which is crucial for professionals who need to do color-critical tasks.

We played a lot of content on the Asus Zenbook 17 Fold, including FHD YouTube videos, Netflix shows and Prime movies. The overall display experience was fabulous and the touchscreen response was far better than any we’ve seen in this segment. The sound controls also match the machine and can be used for long-term monitoring. At 8MM, the laptop weighs just 1.5kg and 1.8kg when you attach the keyboard.
Asus Zenbook 17 Fold Review: Performance
ASUS ZenBook 17 fold is a powerful laptop that is packed with cutting-edge technology. It is powered by a 12th generation Intel Core i7 (1250U) processor that offers fast and efficient performance for all types of tasks. The notebook also comes with IRIS X graphics, which provides smooth and responsive graphics for everyday tasks and other graphics-intensive tasks. Don’t expect him to play top games though. It might be able to run them, but at very low FPS on base settings.
The notebook also comes with 16GB of RAM and 1TB of M.2 NVMe SSD storage, providing plenty of performance and storage for all your needs. We were hoping that a 32GB RAM model would also be available, but that’s not currently available.
In terms of connectivity, the ASUS ZenBook 17 fold comes with WiFi 6E and Bluetooth 5.0 to provide a fast and stable wireless connection. The notebook is also equipped with a web camera with a 5MP sensor. In the small version, Asus also inserted a 75Wh 4-cell Li-Ion battery into the machine. In our tests, the laptop stayed alive for 5.5 hours. This included a combination of work and watching movies in full screen (tablet mode).
Windows 11 Home comes out of the box and is a bit more complicated to set up if you don’t have an active internet connection. While this isn’t Asus’ problem, Microsoft really needs to allow users to set up the device without having to create or forcefully sign up for a Microsoft account first. Take a cue from Android, they tried that at one point, but then also went back to allowing users to set up the device without signing in. If a user wants to use PlayStore apps, they need to login, otherwise there is no need. The same should be done with all Microsoft operating systems and laptops.
Moving on, we had a wonderful time with this laptop because when we needed to work, we attached a keyboard extension that turned it into a 13-inch laptop. And when we wanted to watch something, we turned it 90 degrees to take full advantage of the 17-inch tablet mode.
Overall, we found no flaws in the Asus Zenbook 17 Fold’s performance. We even tried editing 4K videos on the machine and it handled the process well.

ASUS ZenBook Fold 17 is a high-end laptop with an elegant and attractive design, robust performance and a unique folding display. This laptop’s 17-inch touchscreen is ideal for professionals who want a large screen for working on complex projects, as well as for individuals looking for a versatile computer that can be used for both work and play.
ZenBook Fold 17 easily handles even the most demanding tasks thanks to a powerful Intel Core processor and fast storage. And that being said, it also has a unique folding mechanism that allows the display to rotate, making it easy to switch between laptop and tablet mode. Overall, the ASUS ZenBook 17 is a powerful and versatile laptop that is ideal for both work and play.
The only thing that bothers me is the price. Asus is asking you to break the bank and bring them Rs 3,29,690, which is equivalent to buying a small car. You have to ask yourself this question, do you really want a foldable touchscreen laptop? If the answer is yes and you can afford it, we see no reason not to buy it.
